The group was formed in autumn 1998. The objective and the motivation of the project were clear : to bring back to life the most accurately possible this fascinating group from the late 60' and to take a trip back in time in recreating the show's atmosphere of the psychedelic era. After doing video, audio and written research, as well as interviews, it is now possible to recreate the Doors image (costumes, movements and accessories).

The playing of the song was based on the studio versions, as well as fine touches from the live recordings. The Doors' live sound was unique. Every effort were deployed to reproduce this sound : Ludwig 1970 drums, Gibson keyboard recreated using digital sound, piano bass Fender Rhodes with a Fender Bassman 1964 ampli, Gibson SG guitar and original distortion effects with a genuine Fender BandMaster ampli.

Just like The Doors, The Celebration Of The Lizard is composed of four members : Stéphane Desrochers, who can bring back to like Jim Morrison with his look, his powerful voice and his scene presence. Yvan Cayer is Robby Krieger, based on his colored guitar playing. With his stunning look and his mastering of Ray Manzarek's technique, Stéphane Bergeron can open The Doors' essence. And finally Francis Gaulin, with his meticulouswork, can recreate John Densmore's original rythm and dynamism.

Attending to The Celebration Of The Lizard's show is living a page of history in the musical book which is "Peace And Love", LSD experiences and youth's revolt against the "Establishment".
